Lisa Marder is a former writer for ThoughtCo who contributed articles about art, creativity, painting, and visual arts for more than two years. She has been painting and teaching art for over 20 years in the Boston area. Her landscapes paintings reflect her time in, and the beauty of, New England area. She often starts a piece by taking a series of photographs and crafting her image from those photos. Corporate and private art collections include Lisa's work.
Lisa began teaching art in 1990 at the South Shore Art Center. She guides students of all ages in a variety of art and photography courses. Her first teaching experience can as a teaching assistant and studio instructor during her years at Harvard. Lisa also instructed at the Notre Dame Academy in Hingham, Massachusetts. She is a member of the National Association of Women Artists.
Lisa Marder earned a Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) from Harvard Graduate School of Design in 1985. She also holds a bachelor's degree in Biology and Environmental Studies.
