Sixth chords can be formed a few different ways. The most common are built as follows:

 

● Major 6th

  A Cmaj6 is a major triad with an added major sixth interval:  C – E – G – A


● Six/Nine

  A C6/9 is a major sixth chord with an added major ninth:  C – E – G – A – D


● 6sus4

  A C6sus4 is a suspended 4th triad with an added major 6th (no 3rd):  C – F – G – A

 

Switch Chord Type:

     ▪ Cminor | Cminor6 | Cminor7 | Cminor9
