Margaret Schlachter is Obstacle Racing and Extreme Racing. There is no adventure she is afraid to explore. Her love of the sport extends into all aspects of her life as an author, writer, athlete, coach and avid lover of the outdoors.
Margaret has been competing in Obstacle Racing since it's beginnings in 2010. Since then she has participated in everything from local 5K mud runs to the sports premier events including World's Toughest Mudder, Spartan Death Race, and Survival Run in Nicaragua. Her racing has taken her all over the globe and continues to seek out the next adventure. She is the founder of the award winning Dirt in Your Skirt, a website geared towards women in obstacle racing, works for a number of publications as a writer and contributing editor. She also authored the book Obstacle Race Training: How to Beat any Course, Compete Like a Champion, and Change Your Life.
Margaret came from an alpine ski racing background where she coached elite athletes for over 10 years as well as coaching women's lacrosse during the off-season. In 2012 she trained weight loss sensation Chris Davis helping him lose over 400lbs in preparation for the Vermont Spartan Beast. She continues to grow as a coach and is a lifelong learner. She currently is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and former Spartan SGX Coach.
