Experience

Marion Boddy-Evans is a former writer for ThoughtCo who covered painting for 12 years. She is an writer and an artist who lives on, and gains inspiration from, Scotland's Isle of Skye. She works from the town of Portree and also teaches workshops in art and quilting. Marion's painting knowledge comes from formal instruction, studio experience, workshops, self-directed personal study, both theoretical and practical, and discussions with other artists.. 

Marion contributes articles to art magazines and blogs. She edits numerous nonfiction books and how-to art titles. Marion co-wrote Picture Perfect Cape Town and Garden Route (Struik Publishers, 2007) and 1001 Places to See Before You Die in Southern Africa (Penguin Random House South Africa, 2006).

Education

Marion Boddy-Evans earned a Bachelor in Journalism (B.J.) in Journalism and Translation from Rhodes University.​
