Travelin' Mars

Mars in Sagittarius is motivated to cover great distances, always seeking what's at the edge of the horizon. There are great energy bursts with your Mars, but it comes in fits and starts.

Your Mars is mutable, so you're all about spreading the joy, making tracks and acting on hunches. This is a very instinctive Mars, for gut-level guidance about what's got potential. Having a mutable (changeable) Mars means you're flexible and spontaneous.

A Greater Force

In his book on spiritual astrology, Per Henrik Gullfoss writes that mutable Mars signs are focused in the moment and able to be quick on their feet, in making choices.

But mutable signs don't hold the focus, and therefore don't have the stamina of cardinal or fixed Mars signs. He writes, "So the mutable Mars is here to learn how to use force itself to move on. It needs to align itself with greater forces and wills than the personal."

What could that greater force be?  That's where the secret to staying motivated lies, since Sagittarius is on a mission to gain knowledge, live truthfully and go beyond personal limits.

The greater force is the desire to live aligned with the truth, that can be objectively known and tested.

You join then a lineage of seekers on a quest to answer big questions of life.  Your philosophy changes as you learn more, and you grow wise and are able to act in harmony with that wisdom.

If this is your Mars Sign, the ultimate for you is wise action, in the moment.  You trust yourself, to make the right choice, and if it's not the "right" choice, to learn from everything, even mistakes.

Animated

When Mars is in fire, the whole body gets lit up. When Mars Sagittarius catches a wave of inspiration, his or her enthusiasm is contagious.

As a fire sign feisty Mars, your style of anger is short bursts. You have flare ups, but quickly move on from them. You're apt to be blunt, sometimes missing the nuance to soften the blow. You can unintentionally set others off, but you also set people free to do their thing, too.

Working it Out

Mars Sagittarians need to move! Some feel off if they don't have a vigorous work-out every day. Chances are, you enjoy competition and have a sporty side. You enjoy travel, going on foot where possible, for total physical engagement. You may arrange to live abroad or travel for your job.

With the instincts of Sagittarius, you've got a passion for learning. This leads you to learn hands-on adventure skills, like scuba diving or alpine trekking. You thrive in fields where knowledge circles outward, and there's always more to learn. A knowledge field with a physical component, like archeology or leading global tours, suits your high vitality. You're rarely bored, since you stay on the move, looking for the next challenge.

I know a Mars Sagittarius gal who is really into the 5 Rhythms dance practice.

By going to workshops and teaching, she expands her "tribe" in different spaces. The practice is a way too of seeing movement in everyday life.

If you're a Mars Sagittarius, you're likely tuned into the rhythms of life. You can be at home with the many tempos and moods, from one moment to the next.

Red Hot

You have many lovers, and play the field with more experimental gusto than most. You have a light attitude about sex, and don't easily "settle down."

You are a free-spirited person with few inhibitions, delighting in each new lover or friend you meet.
