Marymount California University Description: Founded in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, in 1968, MCU has gone through several changes in its history. Established as a two-year school by the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary (RSHM), the school transitioned to a four-year school in the 1970s. It became an accredited university (with the addition of graduate degrees) and changed its named from Marymount College to Marymount Calfornia University in 2013. MCU offers Bachelor and Master degrees, with a comprehensive range of concentrations--the most popular being business, psychology, and communications.
