Founded in 1969, Medgar Evers College is a public university located in central Brooklyn, and it is one of the eleven senior colleges in CUNY. The college offers 29 associate and baccalaureate degree programs through its four schools: The School of Business, The School of Professional and Community Development, The School of Liberal Arts and Education, and The School of Science, Health, and Technology.

The college is named after Medgar Wiley Evers, a black civil rights activist who was assassinated in 1963. The spirit of Evers' work is kept alive at Medgar Evers through the college's curriculum and academic centers.
