Discussion of Meredith College's Admissions Standards: Meredith College is a moderately selective college located in Raleigh, North Carolina. In 2015, over a third of all applicants were rejected, and successful applicants have solid grades and test scores. In the graph above, the blue and green dots represent accepted students. You can see that the majority of admitted applicants had high school averages of 3.0 or higher, combined SAT scores of 1000 or higher (RW+M), and ACT composite scores of 20 or better. Note that there are a few red dots (rejected students) and yellow dots (waitlisted students) mixed in with the green and blue in the lower left-hand side of the graph. Some students with grades and test scores that were potentially on target for Meredith were rejected. At the same time, you'll see that a few students were accepted with test scores and grades below the ideal. This is because Meredith's admissions process is holistic. Whether you use the Common Application or the Meredith application, the admissions folks will want to see that you have taken rigorous high school courses, not courses that get you an easy "A." Also, they will be looking for a strong essay, interesting extracurricular activities, and positive letters of recommendation.
