Michigan Technological University Description:

Founded as the Michigan Mining School in 1885, today the Michigan Technological University is a well-regarded doctorate-granting university offering programs in the arts, sciences, humanities, business, social sciences and engineering. Mechanical engineering, civil engineering, and business administration are the most popular programs among undergraduates.

Michigan Tech, one of Michigan's 15 public universities, is located in Houghton, a peaceful town on the Keweenaw Peninsula in Upper Michigan.
