  • June 9, 2015 - This was one of the lighter Patch Tuesdays I have seen in a while, particularly for Microsoft Office. However, it is still just as important to stay updated. One fix to pay particular attention to is MS15-059 to avoid possible remote execution for Microsoft Office 2010 and Microsoft Office 2013 (including the RT version). For more detail, check out the full June 2015 TechNet Security Bulletin.
  • May 12, 2015 - Security fixes for this month include MS15-046, which signals that a hacker could be able to control code remotely if an Office user opens a "specially crafted Microsoft Office file". Another issue coded MS15-044 indicates that services like Lync could be affected by malicious files or a webpage embedded with TrueType fonts. Several other issues exist for Windows and other products and services.

  • April 14, 2015 - April's MS15-033 patch is critical for most Microsoft Office users, as it addresses a possible remote execution breach. This patch could apply to Microsoft Office 2013 Service Pack 1 (64-bit and 32-bit editions), Microsoft Office 2013 RT Service Pack 1, Microsoft Office for Mac 2011, Microsoft Outlook for Mac for Office 365, Microsoft Office 2010 Service Pack 2 (64-bit and 32-bit editions), Microsoft Office 2007 Service Pack 3, Microsoft Office Web Apps 2013 Service Packs 1 and 2, and more. The bulletin states, "Customers whose accounts are configured to have fewer user rights on the system could be less impacted than those who operate with administrative user rights." Another patch, MS15-036, is critical for server and productivity software products and services. Several other updates are available as well. For more detail and downloads, visit the TechNet Microsoft Security Bulletin Summary for March.
  • February 10, 2015 - This month, two fixes in particular affect Microsoft Office. The first is MS15-012 which repairs a possible vulnerability from compromised Office documents while the second, MS15-013, addresses a security feature bypass in Office 2007 or later.
