Established in 1908, Montclair State University is a public university located on a 264-acre campus in Montclair, New Jersey, just 14 miles from New York City. The university's six schools and colleges offer students close to 300 majors, minors, concentrations and certificate programs. Among undergraduates, Business Administration and Psychology are the most popular majors. The university has been growing significantly in recent years, and it often ranks highly among New Jersey colleges. On the athletic front, the MCU Red Hawks compete in the NCAA Division III New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC).
