Monterey Peninsula College Description: Monterey Peninsula College is a public community college located in Monterey, California. It is a part of the California Community Colleges system. The 87-acre oceanfront campus is just minutes from the coast of Monterey Bay, providing easy access to several miles of local public beaches, and less than two hours south of San Jose and San Francisco. Academically, MPC has a student faculty ratio of 25 to 1 and offers 71 associate’s degrees as well as a number of one and two-year certificate programs. Popular areas of study at the college include liberal studies, business administration, nursing and biological sciences. Although the college is not residential, students are involved in campus life, participating in 25 student-run clubs and organizations, an active student government and a variety of cultural and social events on campus. MPC Athletics compete in the California Community College Athletics Association as a Junior College member of the Coast Conference.
