The college has remained true to its mission of educating women in design fields since its founding in 1848. Moore women can choose from ten areas of study that lead to a bachelors of fine arts degree: art education, art history, curatorial studies, fashion design, fine arts, graphic design, illustration, interactive & motion arts, interior design, and photography & digital arts. Moore also offers three masters-level programs. The college takes pride in its high level of job placement for students in their areas of study, and Moore students and graduates receive life-long support from the Locks Career Center to aid them in their professional endeavors. All more students complete a paid internship. Moore's urban campus features an art shop for selling student and alumnae work, five professional galleries and a student-run gallery, a creative writing center, and numerous opportunities for community service and leadership development.
