The University of Missouri at Columbia (often called MU or Mizzou) is the flagship campus of the University of Missouri system and the largest university in the state. MU has many graduate programs and research centers which, combined with its commitment to graduate and undergraduate education, has earned the school membership in the Association of American Universities. Social life at the university owes much to the 70 or so Greek organizations on campus. In athletics, the Missouri Tigers compete in the NCAA Division I Southeastern Conference (SEC).
