Discussion of Murray State University's Admissions Standards: Murray State University admissions are not overly selective, and most students who put in a solid effort in high school should be able to get in. In the graph above, the blue and green dots represent accepted students. Most had an SAT score (RW+M) of 950 or higher, an ACT composite of 18 or higher, and a high school GPA of a "B-" or better. The university does get many strong applicants, and you can see that a significant number of admitted students had grades up in the "A" range. Students with standardized test scores at or below the low end of this range may be required to take developmental courses to help assure college readiness. Murray State university does not have holistic admissions, so grades, standardized test scores, and class rank are the primary factors used in making admission decisions. Applicants must show that they have completed a pre-college curriculum, and all must submit an official high school transcript, ACT or SAT scores, and class rank (if available).
