Nancy Basile is a professional writer who has been watching TV cartoons since the days when they were relegated to Saturday mornings on three networks.

After winning state journalism awards in college, Nancy Basile put her writing skills to good use freelancing for the Medina County Gazette in Ohio and The Intelligencer in West Virginia. Later, Nancy was an assistant to a casting director who hired talent for episodic television and made-for-TV movies.

She eventually combined her writing and television background with her love of animation, and since 1999, has been covering all aspects of animated TV online. Nancy has watched the world move from Bugs Bunny (one of her early favorites!) and The Flintstones to current hits like Family Guy and Adventure Time. Along the way she enjoyed watching Smurfs, Speed Racer, Schoolhouse Rock, Pink Panther, Underdog, Scooby-Doo, Pee-Wee's Playhouse and many more shows.

Interviews with some of animated TV's biggest names have given Nancy insight into the world behind our favorite cartoons. She has interviewed creators Seth MacFarlane, Al Jean, Loren Bouchard and David X. Cohen. She has interviewed voice-over actors Nancy Cartwright, H. Jon Benjamin, Kristen Schaal, Frank Welker and Peter Cullen.

In 2013 and 2014, Nancy was a presenter at Wildcat Comic Con, sharing her love of TV cartoons with other fans. In 2016, Nancy was a panelist at Central PA Comic Con and Zenkaikon.

Nancy Basile is also editor-in-chief of and a contributing writer for

B.F.A. Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio.
