Nick Greene is a former writer for ThoughtCo who contributed articles on astronomy, physics, and the space program over a period of seven years. In addition to working as an electronics tech, software engineer, and web designer for the U.S. Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Engineering Center, Greene is an experienced journalist who covers a variety of scientific topics. His article on the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster has been reprinted in a number of publications, most notably the book Space Exploration: Exploring Science and Medical Discoveries.

He is an amateur astronomer, a member of the Planetary Society, serves as the UN World Space Week Coordinator for the continent of Antarctica, and is the co-founder of the Antarctic Astronomy Society. He is also featured on CNN's story on Antarctica, "Harsh Continent." He has traveled to over 30 countries and all 7 continents, with much time spent in Antarctica.
