OPSU is a small, four-year, public university whose 1,400 students are supported by a student/faculty ratio of 16 to 1. The university offers a wide variety of programs and degrees through the schools of Science, Mathematics, and Learning; Agriculture; Liberal Arts; Business and Technology; and Education. Programs in health and agriculture areas are some of the most popular. Students stay busy outside of the classroom through OPSU's many student clubs and intramurals. The university has a nine-hole golf course, a swimming pool, an indoor track, and basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts. OPSU competes in the NCAA Division II Heartland Conference for ten intercollegiate sports. Men’s and women’s rodeo is also extremely popular, and the men’s team has won a total of four National Championships.
