The city's Avenue of the Arts is just steps away, so Peirce students have easy access to the historical and cultural highlights of Philadelphia. The college has changed significantly since its founding in 1865 as the Union Business College, a school designed to offer career training to soldiers after the Civil War. Today, the college specializes in offering part-time programs for working adults who want to earn degrees in business, healthcare, paralegal studies and information technology. Students can choose from certificate, associate degree and bachelor's degree programs, and in 2013, the school began offering a master's degree in organizational leadership and management.
