Discussion of Pepperdine's Admissions Standards:

Pepperdine University has highly selective admissions -- just one in three applicants will be admitted, and nearly all accepted students had both grades and standardized test scores that were above average. In the graph above, the blue and green dots represent accepted students. You can see that the majority of successful applicants had high school grades in the "A" range, combined SAT scores of 1200 or higher, and ACT composite scores of 25 or better. The higher those grades and test scores, the better your chances are of receiving an acceptance letter from Pepperdine.

Note that there are quite a few red dots (rejected students) and yellow dots (waitlisted students) mixed in with the green and blue in the middle of the graph. Many students with grades and test scores that were on target for Pepperdine University did not get in. On the flip side, note that some students were accepted with test scores and grades a little bit below the norm. This is because Pepperdine's admissions process is qualitative as well as quantitative. The university uses The Common Application and has holistic admissions. The admissions folks take into consideration the rigor of your high school courses, your application essay, extracurricular activities, and letters of recommendation.
