The 2018-2019 season on the PGA Tour boasts a schedule with more than just a few significant changes. There are new tournaments, new dates and a modification to the FedEx Cup playoffs.

Two of the biggest tournaments on the schedule change dates in 2019. The PGA Championship has been played in August for decades, but beginning in 2019 moves to May. And The Players Championship, which in recent years has taken place in May, returns to its old spot on the schedule in March.

Two brand new tournaments on the 2019 PGA Tour schedule: the Rocket Mortgage Classic (June 24-30 in Detroit) and the 3M Open (July 1-7 in Minneapolis). Meanwhile, the Houston Open and The Greenbrier do not appear on the schedule below because they are moving to the Fall portion of the schedule in 2019 (as part of the 2019-20 season).

The FedEx Cup playoffs are shortened in 2019 from four tournaments to just three, with the TPC Boston tournament (once called the Deutsche Bank Championship) discontinued. (The Quicken Loans National is also discontinued.) Also, the WGC Bridgestone Invitational played in Akron, Ohio, is replaced by the FedEx St. Jude Invitational, which is elevated to WGC status.
