<p><strong>Editor&#39;s Note: Picasa was acquired by Google in 2004 and <a href="http://googlephotos.blogspot.ca/2016/02/moving-on-from-picasa.html" data-component="link" data-source="inlineLink" data-type="externalLink" data-ordinal="1" rel="nofollow">discontinued in May, 2015</a>. Picasa was, essentially, incorporated into <a href="https://www.thoughtco.com/get-started-with-google-photos-1701999" data-component="link" data-source="inlineLink" data-type="internalLink" data-ordinal="2">Google Photos</a>.</strong></p><p>Did you know you can upload pictures to Facebook directly from <a href="https://www.thoughtco.com/picasa-digital-photo-software-google-1700055" data-component="link" data-source="inlineLink" data-type="internalLink" data-ordinal="3">Picasa</a>? The <a href="http://apps.facebook.com/picasauploader/" data-component="link" data-source="inlineLink" data-type="externalLink" data-ordinal="4">Picasa Uploader for Facebook</a> will add a button to your Picasa program enabling you to upload directly to your existing Facebook albums or create a new Facebook photo album directly from Picasa.</p><ul><li>The captions you add in Picasa will transfer to Facebook, but your people tags will not.</li><li>Picasa 2.5 or higher is required.</li></ul><p>Visit <a href="http://apps.facebook.com/picasauploader/" data-component="link" data-source="inlineLink" data-type="externalLink" data-ordinal="5">http://apps.facebook.com/picasauploader/</a> and click the large install button to install the uploader.</p>You&#39;ll be prompted to launch Picasa and import the new button. Click Yes.In Picasa, the &#34;Configure Buttons&#34; window will open. You should see Facebook on the left under &#34;Available buttons&#34; and the default buttons in a list on the right under &#34;Current buttons.&#34; Click the &#34;Add &gt;&gt;&#34; button to move Facebook from the left to the right.<p>If you wish, you can also remove any unused buttons from the current buttons list on the right by clicking &#34;&lt;&lt; Remove.&#34; You can change the order of the buttons with the Move Up and Move Down buttons.</p><p>When you are satisfied with the button arrangement, click OK.</p>The Facebook button should now appear in the button bar at the bottom of the Picasa window.<p>Now you are ready to upload to Facebook. Select a group of pictures you&#39;d like to upload, then click the Facebook button.</p><p>A new window will open and prompt you for your Facebook login credentials. Login with your Facebook email and password.</p>In the next screen you will be able to choose an existing album or create a new album. Fill in the details for your photos, set your privacy setting, and click upload when you are ready to send the pictures to Facebook.Picasa&#39;s progress indicator will appear in the lower right corner of your screen as the photos are processed and uploaded. When the upload is finished, the album will open in your default Web browser where you can tag the people in the photos on Facebook. Adding people tags on Facebook will notify your friends when you post pictures of them.
