Play Golf Designs is the name of a Las Vegas-based company that develops and manages golf events. There are many such companies around the U.S. and the world, so what is the "hook" of Play Golf Designs? PGD has a staff of women tour professionals, many of whom are familiar to golf fans, and is run by a company founder who imbues the company's events with a hip and trendy style and attitude.

Play Golf Designs organizes and manages corporate events, charity events, private club events - it can even arrange (scheduling - and your wallet - permitting) one-on-one outings with the touring pro of your choice.

The Play Golf Designs staff of golfers includes LPGA Tour members, Futures Tour members, and golfers with experience on many other world tours (LET, Canadian, Asian, et.al.). There are also several "Big Break" cast members among them. Click through the photos to view some of those staff golfers, or visit playgolfdesigns.com for more company info.

In the gallery intro, I mentioned the company's "hip and trendy style and attitude" that flows from founder Nisha Sadekar (more about her on the next page). This photo captures that style and attitude.

From left, the golfers are Seema Sadekar, Kim Kouwabunpat and Amber Prange. Kim was a two-time all-conference selection at Stanford, and Amber played at the University of Washington. (More on Seema later in the gallery.)

Amber Prange was a cast member on the Golf Channel's "Big Break X: Michigan," and her older sister, Ashley Prange, was the winner of "Big Break V" as well as being a Play Golf Designs staff member herself.

All three of these golfers have experience on the Futures Tour. "Kimmy K" has played on tours all around the world. She is also PGD's liaison on the West Coast.

Nisha Sadekar is the founder of Play Golf Designs. A native of Toronto, Nisha played collegiate golf at the University of Missouri. She later settled in Las Vegas, where her sister (Seema) was attending college.

Nisha's vision for Play Golf Designs has taken off quickly, drawing a strong stable of touring professionals, as well as attention from publications such as Golf Digest. The February 2008 issue of that magazine included a simple question:

"If you had your choice between paying $9,000 to playa pro-am round with PGA Tour pro Charley Hoffman or $1,500 to play with Futures Tour pro and "Big Break" contestant Ashley Gomes, which would you choose? Play Golf Designs founder Nisha Sadekar is banking on the latter."

Nisha sets the tone for the company, its golfers, and their approach to clients and outings. For more of Nisha's attitude - we'll call it "Nishatude" - check out her blog, Golf Couture.

And Kim represents Play Golf Designs, as well. She's also been representin' on the LPGA, where she's been a member since 2006 (following a stellar collegiate career at Stanford). The 2008 season was her strongest to date.

The Sadekars aren't the only sisters involved with Play Golf Designs; the Pranges are the other sister act. Amber Prange, who we've already seen in this gallery, is the younger sister; Ashley Prange is the older sister, and the Prange girl first introduced to golf audiences through "The Big Break." Ashley was the winner of "Big Break V: Hawaii." She went on to post multiple victories on the Futures Tour and has achieved LPGA status. Ashley also assisted Nisha Sadekar in the development of the Play Golf Designs tour staff.

Tina Miller has something in common with several Play Golf Designs tour pros, and that is participation in "The Big Break." And she has something else in common with several others, and that is her pursuit of a modeling career. Miller, who was a collegiate All-American at Miami and has experience on the Futures Tour, was a cast member on "Big Break Kaanapali." (Photos of Tina from that "Big Break" series can be viewed here.)

Aree Song

Injuries slowed the progress of Aree Song's LPGA Tour career, but few golfers have accomplished so much at such a young age as Aree did. At age 13, Aree won the U.S. Girls Junior Amateur Championship, then finished in the Top 10 at the LPGA's Kraft Nabisco Championship. She continued winning major junior titles - and faring well in LPGA events - culminating in a fifth-place finish at the 2003 U.S. Women's Amateur. Only after that performance did Aree turn pro, although she was still only 17 years old at the time. Her rookie year on the LPGA Tour was 2004, and her best finish to date is a second-place at the 2004 Kraft Nabisco.
