Savannah College of Art and Design Description:

The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) is a private art school whose main campus occupies many historic buildings in downtown Savannah. SCAD has other campuses in Atlanta, France and Hong Kong as well as several online certificate and degree programs. The college has seen significant growth since its founding in 1978, and today students and faculty come from all 50 states and 100 countries.

Students can choose from 45 programs offered across the college's eight schools. Animation, film, graphic design and illustration are all highly popular among undergraduates. The curriculum is grounded in both the liberal arts and the fine arts. The college has limited housing facilities, and most students live off campus.

In athletics, the college competes in the NAIA Florida Sun Conference. Unusual for an art school, SCAD made my list of top equestrian colleges.
