SIRIUS XM Radio Offers More Christmas and Holiday Music

SiriusXM will offer plenty of Christmas and holiday music this season, including carols, holiday soul, Latin seasonal and Hanukkah music. The offerings will span various genres and styles from traditional and classics to contemporary tunes along with several unique takes on the holiday season. The holiday offerings will be available through standard satellite radio channels, the SiriusXM Internet radio app and at SiriusXM.com.

Here's a rundown of what you can listen to for the yuletide.

The Basics

  • Holiday Traditions (channel 18, satellite radio and channel 782, internet): If you're looking for an old-fashioned Christmas feeling, then you'll love Holiday Traditions, which features seasonal music spanning the decades between the 1940s through 1960s. Artists like Nat "King" Cole, Andy Williams and Bing Crosby are just a few of the examples of what you'll hear. 
  • Holly (channel 17 satellite radio and channel 781 online) plays contemporary holiday hits featuring songs by Kelly Clarkson, Pentatonix, Josh Groban, Madonna, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Brian Setzer, Jimmy Buffett, Mariah Carey and more.
  • Holiday Pops (channel 76, satellite; channel 783, internet) will offer classical Christmas carols and holiday favorites performed by the noted classical musicians including the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Luciano Pavarotti, the New York Philharmonic, King’s College Choir, the Boston Pops and Thomas Hampson.
  • Country Christmas (channel 58, satellite; channel 784, internet) will feature an assortment of country Christmas music, including Garth BrooksCarrie Underwood and Willie Nelson, along with celebrity guest DJs such as Dolly Parton, Little Big Town and Brenda Lee picking the music and sharing personal memories. Country Christmas will also include the “12 Days of Country Christmas Live,” a series featuring a different artist performance every day for 12 days. Artists include Collin Raye, John Michael Montgomery, T. G. Sheppard, Exile, The Bellamy Brothers, Mark Wills and Johnny Lee.

    A Different Musical Twist

    • Radio Hanukkah (787, internet) features an extensive collection of Hanukkah-themed music including contemporary, traditional and children’s selections as well as daily reflections and prayers related to the holiday.
    • Navidad (channel 785, internet) features Latin holiday music and traditional sounds, including Jose Feliciano, the Fania All-Stars, Gloria Estefan, Marco Antonio Solis, El Gran Combo and Tito El Bambino.
    • Holiday Soul (channel 49, satellite; channel 786, internet) offers classic soul and Motown holiday music from the ‘60s and '70s, along with R&B holiday music from the ’80s and ’90s, including  Whitney Houston , Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, Luther Vandross, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, Dionne Warwick, The Four Tops, The Supremes, The O’Jays, James Brown, The Temptations, Lou Rawls and Toni Braxton. 

    Track Santa and Celebrate New Year's

    • You and your children can track Santa's sleigh ride on Christmas Eve on Kids Place Live (channel 78, satellite radio). "Our friends at North American Air Defense Command (NORAD) are using their special technology again to pinpoint Santa Claus’ whereabouts," says the SiriusXM website. "You can follow along on your radio. Tune to every 20 minutes, starting at 4 p.m. ET on Dec. 24, for the latest update on the sleigh’s location."
    • New Year's Nation (channel 18, satellite; channel 782. internet): The ultimate soundtrack to New Year’s Eve parties around the country will feature the biggest, upbeat party hits from genres across SiriusXM’s music platform.
