Founded in 1889, Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania is a four-year, public university located on 660 acres in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, a town less than an hour from Pittsburgh. The university supports nearly 9,000 students with a student/faculty ratio of 20 to 1. SRU offers 60 academic programs across their four colleges: Humanities, Fine, and Performing Arts; Health, Environment, and Science; Business, Information and Social Sciences; and Education. For fun on campus, SRU is home to more than 150 student clubs and organizations, including a Gamer’s Guild, a Paranormal Research and Investigation Club, and two Equestrian teams (one English, one Western).

They also have a host of intramurals and lots of interesting club sports such as Martial Arts, Sea Kayaking, and Cornhole. For intercollegiate athletics, SRU competes in the NCAA Division II Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) with 10 women’s and 7 men’s teams.
