Treehouse Kids' Adventure Center

Snowmass Treehouse Kids' Adventure Center

The focal point of the Snowmass base village development is the two-story, 25,000-square-foot Treehouse Kids' Adventure Center located at the intersection of the three new lifts on Fanny Hill. At $17 million the Treehouse is the largest capital investment project ever by the Aspen Skiing Company. The facility brings together kids' daycare, ski and snowboard programs, pre-teen, teen and family activities, and entertainment, all under one roof.

The Treehouse Theme

Designed by Lexington, a California company that has an award winning past of children oriented endeavors including projects at Disneyland, Universal, and the L.A. Children's Hospital. The Treehouse introduces children into the culture of snow sports and the theme rooms and mobiles accent our relationship with nature.

Easily accessible from anywhere in Snowmass, the Treehouse offers short-term, front door drop off and underground parking. There are also free shuttle buses to Aspen and ski-in/ski-out access to Fanny Hill and the nearby Sky Cab gondola takes skiers and visitors to the upper slopes, lodges and the Snowmass Village Mall.

Childcare and Preschool Programs

On the first floor, accessible from a parking area and by stairs is child daycare and preschool Ski and Snowboard programs. Located here are the Butterfly Meadow Room (8 weeks to 18 months), the Trout Haven toddlers' room for ages 1-2, the Beaver Lodge play area for the toddlers, with outside access.

Preschoolers, ages 2 1/2 to 4 have activities with a science and nature theme in the Fox Den room, including an interactive crawling tunnel.

Central to the first floor is the 700 sq ft Aspen Climbing Room with a leaf designed climbing wall that is fully netted for safety. There is also a pretend miner's cabin with special discovery areas that are built-in.

Although entrance is well screened by security, this room has public access from 3:30 pm - 5 pm so parents can have daily playtime with the children.

The Eagle Peak Room

On the second floor, which opens onto the base village and Sky Cap gondola level, is the Eagle Peak room, a wide open, multi-purpose room that is the center of activity for families and kids of all ages. Adjoining here is the Ski and Snowboard Rental area, a full size kitchen/lunchroom, some personal cubbies, and a "TLC" and sick area.

Also on this level is The Bear Den room for ages 3 and 4 year with a curtained theater stage, a bear den play area, a loft for quiet time and direct access to two on-the-snow magic carpets. Next to the Bear Den Room is the Four-Mountain Kids - the first and only children's specific retail store in Aspen/Snowmass.

The entire base village project is slated for completion in 2011 and will also include a conference center, 64,000 sq ft of new shops and restaurants, a community aquatic center, a 246 unit hotel, The Little Nell at Snowmass and 359 condominiums.

I suggest you don't wait until 2011 to bring your family to Snowmass. There is plenty of great skiing now, for families of all ages and abilities so come out now and enjoy the Treehouse Adventure experience and everything else that's new at Snowmass.
