Orlando and Tampa are each within an hour's drive, and Florida Southern College is just a couple of miles away. The university is affiliated with the Assemblies of God but welcomes students from other Christian denominations (students are required to be Christian to attend SEU). Southeastern students can choose from over 50 degree programs with fields in religion and the social sciences being among the most popular. High achieving students should look into the Honors Program for perks such as special classes, extra scholarships, and early course registration. Southeastern is a residential university with active student life. Students can choose from a range of clubs, organizations, and intramural sports. The university also takes its Christ-centered identity seriously, and students have a range of options for chapel services, worship, and mission work. The university also hosts an annual conference featuring Christian speakers. Potential applicants should be aware that the university believes that "human sexuality is between one genetic male and one genetic female within the covenant of marriage" (see Southeastern's statement on human sexuality). On the athletic front, the Southeastern University Fire competes in the NAIA Sun Conference. The university fields nine men's and seven women's intercollegiate teams.
