With around 500 students, the college offers an intimate and personal academic environment. Academics are supported by a 14 to 1 student / faculty ratio and an average class size of 17. SVC emphasizes hands-on experiential learning, and 88% of seniors participate in internships or some form of off-campus field experience. Students can choose from 15 majors offered through the college's five divisions: Nursing, Social Sciences, Humanities, Science and Technology, and Business. Nursing is the college's most popular major for both associates degree and bachelor degree students.
