Founded in 1906, Southern Wesleyan University is a small, private, Christian university. The campus is located in the town of Central, South Carolina, just minutes from the Blue Ridge Mountains. Clemson University is ten minutes away, and the urban centers of Atlanta and Charlotte are each about a two-hour drive. The university takes its Christian identity seriously, and central to the school's mission and purpose is the belief that God is the source of all wisdom and truth.

Campus life includes weekly chapel services and 14 clubs and organizations.
