St. Gregory's University Description Located in Shawnee, Oklahoma (with a branch campus in Tulsa), St. Gregory's University is the only Catholic University in the state. The school was founded as Sacred Heart College in 1877, and, after some name changes and relocations, it became St. Gregory's College. In 1997, it became a 4-year institution, and began offering graduate degrees in 2005. St. Gregory's offers a range of majors--from liberal arts to professional/medical fields. Popular choices include Business Administration, Psychology, and Theology. Outside of the classroom, students can enjoy a number of clubs and activities--honor societies, academic groups, and recreational intramurals (including Quidditch teams!) On the athletic front, the St. Gregory Cavaliers compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), within the Sooner Athletic Conference.
