Taren is a former writer for ThoughtCo is a certified math teacher with a specialization in middle level math. For 8 years, Taren taught 5th through 8th grade math in urban, inclusive classroom settings.
After her time in the classroom, Taren became an administrator at an urban charter school, where she has served as the Director of Curriculum and Development and manager of the school's 21st Century grant program.
Taren is also certified to teach K-6 (all subjects) and middle-level English. She is a masters-level ESL specialist.
Taren earned her BA from Lafayette College and her teaching certifications from Muhlenberg College. She received an ESL Specialist Certificate from Penn State University. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Math and Math Education at Wilkes University.
