Taurus and Capricorn are loyal sensualists, but they can get stuck in emotional mud bogs. They are wary of getting into new relationships, and some take a long term view.

They are both earth signs and traditionally work as a love match. They share a down-to-earth sensibility, with all things considered against what's real and tangible.

They're lovers of material luxuries, especially those of lasting value.

First gifts are high quality, top shelf, hand-made or artisan. Both are drawn to what's beautiful and enduring.

Taurus and Capricorn in Love

Taurus in love is languidly sensual, affectionate and loyal.

Capricorn in love is serious, discriminating and lusty.

Capricorn can be a bit more of a cool character when first hanging out. The natural reserve with Cappy has a serious edge, while Taurus is more chill. Both signs are cautious in love, wanting to build something stable from the ground up.

The 'Seagoat' susses out new players in the sphere and their potential role to play. Capricorn is a cardinal sign that has a palpably felt impact on its environment. If you're invited into a Cappy's world, you'll soon sense the way they move (and sometimes manipulate) people and things.

Often, there's a sense of integrity there, with Capricorn, at a young age. Many are mature beyond their years. They often set a standard and stick to it.

This makes their demanding natures bearable, and something to count on.

Capricorn can be startlingly unemotional about love, choosing to be with someone for material or status reasons. This makes Capricorn seem conservative and traditional, and marriage oriented. Taurus looks at love similarly but can be more of a hedonist in youth than the uphill climbing Goat.

Pros and Cons

Capricorn Sun is attracted to the sensual side of Taurus Sun, which helps the Goat relax and live in the moment. Both appreciate the finer things in life but are not into squandering their wealth. Taurus respects the formidable depth of Capricorn, finding them a long-term mystery to unravel. Capricorn's legendary dry wit makes Taurus howl with laughter. In the bedroom, they explore their natural, animal selves and cast off worldly concerns.

They'll sense something solid in each other that they can trust. Taurus admires the will to succeed in Capricorn and is not intimidated by the Goat's brooding, strategizing temperament. Capricorn finds in Taurus a mate to root with, and build a stable life from the ground up. The status-seeking Capricorn finds a mate in Taurus that excels on the home front, as the bookkeeper and chef.

When both have high powered careers, which is likely, they go into the all work, no play zone. A love affair could become more like a business partnership if they let empire-building crowd out the pleasures of life. To sum it up, this is a highly compatible match, for business and pleasure.

Upside: Natural attitude toward sexuality; creatures of the senses; both seek fortifying love; realists; keen on commitment; 'What you see is what you get.'

Downside: Deeply entrenched attitudes; slow to change; accumulate things and emotional baggage; competitive; weighed down in day-to-day; ambition trumps all.

Sometimes earth signs get into vitality swamps, and the combination here could mean times of inertia.  Look at ways to deal with too much earth -- this can be heavy.  Both deal with depression, but may learn inside jokes to jostle each other out of it.

Element and Quality: fixed earth (Taurus) and cardinal earth (Capricorn)
