Hi there fellow snow and mountain enthusiasts. My name is Tawnya Lee Schultz and snowboarding has had a piece of my heart now for almost two decades.

I grew up in the mountains outside of L.A., but found a love for the white fluffy stuff early during family trips to Mammoth Mountain. While I started out as a kid skiing with my sister, in high school I just had to try this thing that everyone else was doing, because like many of us, I wanted to be “in with the in crowd”. Little did I know the journey snowboarding would take me on.

While in college studying journalism, I worked at a skate and snowboard shop part-time and ended up at many trade shows, premieres and events where I fell in love with the culture of snowboarding. Between watching every snowboard video I could get my hands on and reading every article in every snowboard magazines, I made it my mission to move to Lake Tahoe after college and pursue my dreams as a snowboard journalist and mountain local.

After years of hard work and literally giving my content away to create a name for myself, I ended up becoming an editor at Snowboard Magazine for five years and started my own annual magazine— Tahoe Snowboard Magazine, which lasted three seasons. In 2011 I co-authored a book called "Mastering Snowboarding" with Olympian Hannah Teter, and wrote a children's how-to snowboarding book— "Sammy the Shredder." More recently I was a weekly contributor at Burton Girls (burtongirls.com) and have written for GoPro, TransWorld, ESPN, X Games, Red Bull...the list goes on.

Needless to say, I love what snowboarding has brought to my life and my mission has always been to bring that passion and inspiration to others, whether they've ever been on snow or not. With that said, welcome to the Snowboard site for . I hope you find some inspiration here and please feel free to reach out with any questions or comments at tawnyaleeschultz@gmail.com.

The friends I have made, the places I have traveled, the pure passion and love I have for being on the mountain is something I never take for granted. I hope this site inspires you in the way snowboarding has inspired me in all aspects of my life.
