Tawnya Schultz is a former writer for ThoughtCo who covered snowboarding. She graduated with a degree in journalism and moved to Lake Tahoe to pursue both of her ambitions: snowboarding and writing about it. She has written for a variety of publications and for five years was associate managing editor at Snowboard magazine, where she founded the Snowboard Women's Annual. She also founded and from 2010-2013 was editor of Tahoe Snowboard Magazine. She was coauthor with Olympian Hannah Teter of the how-to guide "Mastering Snowboarding" and also coauthored "Sammy the Shredder," a children's book about snowboarding.
