Tiger Woods turned pro in 1996. His first missed cut on the PGA Tour happened at the 1997 Bell Canadian Open, which was the 26th tournament of his PGA Tour career. Woods didn't miss another cut for eight years.

Below we list every tournament where Woods has missed a cut on the PGA Tour. It's easy to do, because - despite his late-career injury issues and other struggles - there still aren't many of them.

All of Tiger Woods' PGA Tour Missed Cuts

Since turning pro in late 1996, Tiger Woods has missed the 36-hole cut in 16 PGA Tour events. Those 16 tournaments, and Woods' scores in each, are:

  • 1997 Bell Canadian Open, 70-76--146 (+6)
  • 2005 EDS Byron Nelson Championship, 69-72--141 (+1)
  • 2005 Funai Classic, 68-73--141 (-3)
  • 2006 U.S. Open, 76-76--152 (+12)
  • 2009 British Open, 71-74--145 (+5)
  • 2010 Quail Hollow Championship, 74-79--153 (+9)
  • 2011 PGA Championship, 77-73--150 (+10)
  • 2012 Wells Fargo Championship, 71-73--144 (E)
  • 2012 Greenbrier Classic, 71-69--140 (E)
  • 2014 Quicken Loans National, 74-75--149 (+7)
  • 2014 PGA Championship, 74-74--148 (+6)
  • 2015 Waste Management Phoenix Open, 73-82--155 (+13)
  • 2015 U.S. Open, 80-76--156 (+16)
  • 2015 British Open, 76-75--151 (+7)
  • 2015 PGA Championship, 75-73--148 (+4)
  • 2017 Farmers Insurance Open, 76-72--148 (+4)

Note that only five of these missed cuts happened prior to Woods' 2009 car accident and the dissolution of his marriage and scandal that followed.

Woods' Missed Secondary Cuts

Woods has also missed the secondary cut, after 54 holes, once:

  • 2014 Farmers Insurance Open, 72-71-79--222 (+6)

The secondary cut is also known as "Rule 78" (see PGA Tour cut rule for an explanation of 'Rule 78').

Then There Was that Record No-Cut Streak

When it comes to PGA Tour cuts, the thing Woods will always be most famous for is holding the PGA Tour record for most consecutive tournaments without missing a cut - 142.

Between his first missed cut in 1997 and his second in 2005, Woods went 142 tournaments without missing a cut. Coincidentally, the streak finally ended at the tournament named after the man whose record Woods broke - the Byron Nelson Championship.
