British singer-songwriter Sam Smith first gained prominence when he appeared as guest vocalist on the pop breakthrough hit "Latch" by electronic dance music duo Disclosure in 2012.  In 2013 he was featured vocalist on the #1 pop hit "La La La" by Naughty Boy.  His debut album In the Lonely Hour was released in the spring of 2014. It reached #2 on the album chart and ultimately sold more than two million copies in the US alone. Three singles "Stay With Me," "I'm Not the Only One," and "Lay Me Down" all reached the pop top 10. Sam Smith earned six Grammy Award nominations for music from his first album and he won four including Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Song of the Year for "Stay With Me."

Ella Eyre

British singer-songwriter Ella Eyre went to the top of the UK pop singles chart with her first chart appearance as a teenager.  She contributed vocals to Rudimental's 2013 #1 hit single "Waiting All Night."  Her deep, husky vocals are inspired by classic Motown.  Ella Eyre is signed as a recording artist to Virgin / EMI who released her debut single "Deeper" in December 2013. It was followed by a trio of top 20 charting British pop hits "If I Go," "Comeback," and "Together." Her debut album Feline reached #4 on the UK album chart in the fall of 2015.

Foxes

The voice of Louisa Rose Allen, aka Foxes, became familiar to US pop fans when she was the featured vocalist on Zedd's breakthrough pop hit "Clarity" in 2012. She also appeared on the song "Just One Yesterday" on the Fall Out Boy album Save Rock and Roll. Her debut album Glorious was released in May 2014 and reached #4 on the UK album chart. It included the #1 US dance hit "Youth" and the top 10 UK pop hit single "Let Go For Tonight." Foxes' second album All I Need was released in February 2016.

Chance the Rapper

Chicago based Chance the Rapper says he is on, "a mission to disrupt the hierarchy of hip hop."  He broke into national R&B charts in 2013 with the critically acclaimed mixtape Acid Rap. Chance the Rapper made his first appearance on pop charts by contributing featured raps to Justin Bieber's final Music Mondays single "Confident." After another celebrated mixtape was released in 2015, Chance the Rapper reached the top 10 on the album chart with his May 2016 mixtape Coloring Book. His single "No Problem" featuring Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz reached the top 10 on the rap chart.

Betty Who

22 year old Australian singer-songwriter Jessica Anne Newham, aka Betty Who, was educated in music in the US first at the Interlochen Center Of the Arts and then Berklee College Of Music.  At the latter she met producer Peter Thomas who helped her develop her own pop style.  Her 2013 debut EP The Movement helped Betty Who obtain a recording contract with RCA. Her debut album Take Me When You Go was released in October 2014 and climbed to #68 on the US album chart. It includes two #1 dance hit singles "Somebody Loves You" and "Heartbreak Dream." In June 2016 Betty Who release her third #1 dance hit single, a remake of Donna Lewis' "I Love You Always Forever."

Banks

Banks is the stage name of singer-songwriter Jillian Banks.  She says that she turned to music as a teenager to combat depression.  She released two EPs in 2013 and supported the Weeknd on a concert tour.  Banks lists Fiona Apple and Lauryn Hill as major influences on her dark, soulful style. Her debut album Goddess was released in September 2014 and climbed to #12 on the US album chart. It sold over 100,000 copies and included the #11 charting alternative radio hit "Beggin For Thread." Her follow up album The Altar was released in September 2016 and hit #17 on the US album chart.

NoNoNo

NoNoNo

NoNoNo are a Swedish trio consisting of singer Stina Wappling and the production duo of Astma and Rockwell.  Stina Wappling believes her education in psychology has impacted her songwriting for the group.  The single "Pumpin Blood" is percussion heavy with an anthemic pop-rock hook.  It became an international breakthrough hit climbing into the top 40 across mainstream pop, rock, and alternative radio in the US while hitting pop charts across Europe. The group's debut album We Are Only What We Feel was released in March 2014.

Chloe Howl

With a series of 3 EPs, Chloe Howl received acclaim for her frank words delivered over electropop beats.  She was compared to both Lily Allen and Icona Pop.  The 18-year-old signed a recording contract with Columbia Records. She finished second in the BBC's Sound of 2014 poll. Her first album was expected in 2014, but in April 2015, reports indicated she had left her recording contract. Her highest charting single is 2014's "Rumour" which reached #84 on the UK pop chart.

Drowners

Drowners are a New York based rock band who play music influenced by Britpop.  They are named after the debut single "Drowners" by the UK band Suede.  The group signed a recording contract with Birthday Records, a label owned by former Kaiser Chiefs drummer Nick Hodgson.  The group specialized in new wave and garage rock. The group's self-titled first album was released in January 2014. They followed it with a second album On Desire in June 1016.

Danny Avila

As an 18-year-old, Spanish DJ Danny Avila became one of the youngest resident DJs ever on the island of Ibiza in 2012.  He was part of a wave of teenage talents emerging in the electronic dance music community.  Danny Avila performed live at the 2013 Ultra Music Festival
