University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Description:

In 1969, Chattanooga University and Chattanooga City College merged to become the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Undergraduates can choose from over 150 degree and concentration programs. Business administration is by far the most popular major. Business, education and nursing are the biggest graduate programs. The university is located in the city, adjacent to the Fort Wood Historic District.

Athletics at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga are supported by a 20 to 1 student / faculty ratio and an average class size of 25. The university has over 120 student organizations as well as an active Greek system with 17 fraternities and sororities. In athletics, the Chattanooga Mocs compete in the NCAA Division I Southern Conference. Popular sports include basketball, softball, track and field, and football.
