Wild Horse Under the Corporate Yoke

Imagine a sleek, barely tame racehorse harnessed to one of those old-timey plows. Every time the horse bolts forward, the plow digs deeper into the earth.

The electric upstarts of Uranus Aries provoke what's deeply entrenched, and churn the earth. It's upturning embedded ways, and in square to Pluto Capricorn (big everything) bringing 'business-as-usual' corruption and exploitation of the natural world to the surface.

The inspired individual shocks others, with Uranus Aries, though he or she faces a mighty, grossly empowered foe in those that hold on to dear life to the dying ways. The f-word comes up in hushed whispers, what Mussolini famously said was a merger of corporate and government power. It's a drive to consolidate wealth, and install a feudal order. And yet, the human spirit rebels and pushes for something more.

Pluto is not the bad guy here. With Pluto, there's death, but the promise of green lush life returning. A deeper expression of Pluto in cardinal earth calls for a respect for natural life and natural law, for that birth to happen. Some treasures are being unearthed, like plant wisdom, deep discoveries about human origins, and soul searching on the nature of our species, in relation to the planet. It's sure to be an edgy and at times, deeply unsettling era.

Many of us are already being swept up in events larger than ourselves, and in some cases, beyond our control.

Trust your instincts, as well as your ability to endure and persevere. This is a time to demonstrate courage and resilience.

Everyone will be affected by this aspect, as society continues to go through civilization altering upheaval and reform. But if you've got planets in cardinal signs at these degrees below, you're going to experience many challenges that bring out the best and worst in your nature.

The primal energies that erupt and form new landscapes of the psyche, on which to make a stand.

Virgo Magic's Emily Trinkhaus on Catastrophe in Japan and the Uranus-Pluto Square:

"And little old you, and little old me? Uranus in Aries says: in this time, each and every one of us is a leader, here to contribute to the collective in our own unique way. We can best respond to the global crises by having the courage to step into the truth of who we are and step up to the part we came here to play to the best of our ability."

From Nadia Gilchrist of Ruby Slipper Astrology:

"A literal death will not necessarily happen but a metaphorical death (say goodbye to an outdated relationship/lifestyle/habit/job) is in the works. And some wonderful things can emerge. Because if there’s one thing you can count on with Uranus, it’s the unexpected. Changes will come at you out of left-field, but so might new life."

Ralfee Finn on the Uranus-Pluto Square Part One:

"Many cultural paradigms shifted during the Sixties, but the crucial issues remain the same today.

And because they do, the next several years of Uranus/Pluto squares are sure to inspire movements for social justice. Those movements will reflect the current cultural syntax, but they will also express the same concerns about the well-being of our fellow humans. If you haven't already, now would be a good time to contemplate how you want to respond to the challenge of those concerns. Remember: Our collective reality is created by our combined individual efforts."

Elsa Panizzon of the Astrology Blog on Uranus-Pluto and Exact Dates/Degrees:

"On the upside, this combination can bring fast healing. A person can also gain power in a blink of an eye. Just get used to the idea of deep change that seems to occur in the blink of an eye."

Austin Coppock of Astrological Almanac:

"The first step is recognizing that both revolt and acceptance are valid principles.

What can be improved should be, while what is inevitable is best met with acceptance. Thus we must recognize where we could use some radical change and revolutionary daring, and where we could use a pragmatic acceptance of what must be. Accepting both, yet being overcome by neither, we can stage a successful revolution within the confines of what must be."

Richard Tarnas, author of Cosmos and Psyche:

"Generally speaking, Uranus-Pluto eras have tended to bring forth the catalyzing of powerful forces in many forms, the awakening of a will to power than can be both creative and destructive, and a tangible intensification and acceleration of human experience.” Source: Astrology News Service

From Revolution & Revelation by Nick Anthony Fiorenza

"Although the few years ahead may stimulate intense revolutionary action and reaction, they also provide opportunity for wide sweeping solution that heralds us into a new time/paradigm on Earth."

Uranus, the planet of rebellion, science, and individuality, functions well in the sign of Aries. It can explore, rebel, and extol the virtues of the individual with no problem at all. Uranus can awaken each person in a way that uniquely makes sense to them; when Uranus is in Aries the pioneering urge is strong.

Pluto, the planet of death, rebirth, upheaval, and explosive power is in the sign of Capricorn. Capricorn is a detached, limiting sign-one that is concerned with structures and achievement. This combination intensifies Pluto's power drive, but in a cold calculating way.

Both planets want their own way; both signs are cardinal, wanting to initiate action, and when they square each other, a power struggle is sure to develop. The phrase "as above, so below" applies here. What goes on in the heavens reflects back on earth. That's why we are seeing people (Uranus) as individuals (Aries) fighting established corporate (Capricorn) power (Pluto) all over the world.

Will Pluto win and affect our freedoms, for good or ill?

Or will Uranus win, by striking suddenly with great energy at the establishment, for good or ill? Or is another outcome awaiting us?

Only time will tell...
