Established in 1852, the college has moved several times in its history because of shifts in Lutheran immigration. The college has called Waverly, Iowa, its home since 1935. The 118-acre campus has seen twelve new buildings constructed since 1990, and enrollment is near an all-time high. Wartburg wins high marks for its community service efforts, student engagement and value.
