Experience

Woody Franklin is a former writer for ThoughtCo who published dozens of articles about the sport of diving over the course of five years. An age group diving coach in Danville, Franklin has also been the head coach at Colorado College and the University of Louisville. He holds coaching certifications from USA Diving and the AAU, is a FINA certified judge, and is an official for the Kentucky High School Athletic Association.

As a member of the University of Louisville Sports Information staff, he worked with a variety of sports teams and served as a United States Olympic Committee intern as well as Media and Public Relations Manager for U.S. Cycling.

 Franklin has worked on the media relations staff of innumerable sporting events including the United States Olympic Festival and the NCAA basketball tournament. His experiences have taken him to national championships, Olympic trials, and world championships for diving, figure skating, cycling, and rowing. At the Atlanta Olympic Games, he was the Media Relations Manager for Diving.

Education

Franklin has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Masters of Education with a specialization in Sports Administration from the University of Louisville.
