Youngest Golfers to Make the Cut in a Men's Major

If you were paying attention to the list above, you already know the answer to this question. The same golfer tops both lists.

The youngest golfer to make the cut in a men's major is Guan Tianlang, who did so at age 14 years, 5 months and 18 days at the 2013 Masters.

Guan beat the previous record by approximately 1 year, 9 months. Guan shot 73-75-77-75 (300) and finished in 58th place.

Before Guan came along, the record had been held by Matteo Manassero, who made the cut in two majors before turning 17:

  • 2009 British Open, 16 years, 2 months, 29 days
  • 2010 Masters, 16 years, 11 months, 21 days

Manassero finished 13th at the 2009 British Open.

Prior to Manassero's accomplishments, the recordholder had been Tommy Jacobs, who was 17 years, 1 month, 22 days old when he made the cut at the 1952 Masters.
